Signing In & First-Run Setup
Signing in
Section titled “Signing in”DubPlanner is a hosted service at dubplanner.com — there is nothing to install.
- Log in — for people whose workspace already uses DubPlanner
- Sign up — the same Linear authorization, for a workspace that is new to DubPlanner
Authorization is OAuth 2.0 against Linear. DubPlanner never sees your Linear password, and your session refreshes itself in the background, so you are not asked to sign in again every few days. If your Linear session does expire, DubPlanner prompts you to re-authorize rather than failing with a server error.
Week labels
Section titled “Week labels”DubPlanner records which week an issue is planned for as a label on the issue in Linear:
Week1 through Week52, numbered from your project’s start date. Storing the plan in Linear is
what keeps the two in step — anyone looking at the issue can see the week, and moving the issue in
DubPlanner is just a label change.
The first time you sign in, the setup wizard:
- checks your workspace for existing
Weeklabels — including archived and team-scoped ones, and it reads every page of results, so it never miscounts; - shows you which of the 52 are missing;
- creates the missing ones when you press Continue, or exits with Looks Good if there is nothing to do.
Restricted workspaces
Section titled “Restricted workspaces”Some Linear workspaces do not allow ordinary members to create labels. The wizard detects this and offers two ways forward:
- Grant elevated permissions — a temporary, scoped permission prompt that lets DubPlanner create the labels on your behalf
- Set up labels manually — the list of labels to create yourself in Linear, if you would rather an admin did it
Running the wizard again
Section titled “Running the wizard again”Go to Organization Settings → Issue Tracker Labels → Reconfigure Labels. This is safe to re-run: labels that already exist are left alone.
Trials, plans and seats
Section titled “Trials, plans and seats”New workspaces start on a trial. A banner in Organization Settings shows the days remaining, and admins get a link to billing. See Plans & billing for what happens at the end of a trial and how seats are counted.
