Real-Time Collaboration

DubPlanner is built for the planning meeting where several people are looking at the same board.

Presence

Avatars in the header show who else is viewing the project right now. Hover one to see who it is. Presence works in Custom Views too, across every project in the view.

Live updates

The board updates itself. You do not refresh.

  • Changes from your issue tracker — when someone updates an issue in Linear (status, assignee, week label), the planner reflects it within moments.
  • Changes from teammates — anything another person does in DubPlanner appears on your board immediately, including inside a shared What-If scenario.

Your own edits appear instantly and sync in the background, so the board never feels like it is waiting on the network.

When two people edit at once

Simultaneous edits are resolved with version tracking rather than timestamps, which is what stops the classic failure: two browsers, two edits, one silently lost. Updates from two windows at the same time both land.

If a ticket’s status changes under you, it settles on the true value rather than briefly bouncing back to the old one.

Project-level changes

If someone updates or deletes the project you are looking at, a banner tells you, with the option to refresh or dismiss — rather than leaving you planning against a project that no longer exists.

Connection problems

The connection indicator stays out of the way during normal use and appears when there is a problem, so a visible badge means something rather than being wallpaper.

Privacy note

Real-time sync carries only what is needed to tell your browser something changed — sensitive ticket content is not stored in the real-time layer. See Security & architecture.
